Regardless of your chess ability, we have the camp for you.  We offer beginner, semi-advanced (tournament players rated 600 - 1000), and advanced (tournament players rated over 1000) chess camp sessions.  Each camp section is limited to 12 students. Camp begins with an evaluation of chess playing ability. Students will be grouped based upon age, experience, instructor evaluation and session option. Our instructor to student ratio will allow for much individualized attention. Concepts are taught in an entertaining manner and are reinforced with worksheets, practice games, analysis, guest lectures, game shows (chess jeopardy), and computer chess games. All students will be taught chess notation. Towards the end of the week, we will concentrate on tournament play. Students will play tournaments with one to two rounds per day. Students will have their games analyzed with the instructor upon completion.

We will end camp with a tournament, Friday pizza party and awards ceremony.   Students will receive many prizes and chess equipment suited to their individual needs as part of the camp.  Tailored suggestions for upcoming study, tournament play, and more. We will recommend specific training programs, tournament schedule, and resources for each individual student. Students tend to improve very rapidly in the months following the camp and will gain a valuable perspective on how to train on their own.

INSTRUCTORS Our team of instructors will be lead by New Jersey Chess Teacher of the Year, International Master of Chess Dean Ippolito and includes many other elite award winning coaches.

CAMP LEVELS    Master Advanced Only week of July 10 will be taught exclusively by Dean Ippolito.   Semi-Advanced and General camps are available all 6 weeks.  

FEES AND REFUNDS   Full day - $575.00.  Half day - $375.00.  $100 cancellation fee for the first week and $50 for subsequent weeks if the student cancels.

$40 REGISTRATION FEE Includes camp T-shirt, scorebook, worksheets, binder, snacks, Friday pizza party at 12pm, and a chance to win hundreds of dollars in prizes! Only one registration fee for campers attending multiple camps.

BEFORE/AFTER CARE  We offer Before/After Care at a rate of $12/hr.  Drop off at 8am.  Pick up from 4pm – 6pm.  Your may sign up for Before/After Care during the week of camp.  Please indicate in advance if you are interested in this service, so we are prepared for it.  Actual charge do not take place until the last day of your camp week. Pick up takes place 15 minutes after the hour will be subject to full extended hourly rate of $12/hr. 

DISCOUNTS   $50 off for each additional week of Full Day Camps attended by the same student. $25 off for each additional week of Half Day Camps attended by the same student.  $50 off for Sibling registered for the same Full Day week of camp. $25 off for Sibling registered for the same Half Day week of camp. $20 off of 1st full day camp only for active DOCA members.  $10 off of 1st half day camp only for active DOCA members. The multiple week discounts have already been factored into the camp pricing.  If you are eligible for the active member or sibling discounts, you may enter below.  Please note to only enter the sibling discount on only one not both of your children's registration.  If you select a discount that you are not eligible for, you will be responsible to repay that discount amount back.

SNACKS Will be provided by DOCA.

LUNCH  Campers may bring lunch from home, or may order on a daily basis from our menu. 

DOCA has partnered with a local restaurant to provide your child healthy lunch options  The menu will be published online shortly, but includes choices such as chicken fingers, pizza, mozzarella sticks, subs and salads.  Lunch orders may be placed and paid for in the morning when you drop off your child.

Please choose the week(s) you would like to register, then select the chess level in either Full Day, AM Half Day or PM Half Day.  Then, please select the number of total weeks.  The prices reflect the multiple camp discounts.
